No Such Thing as Perfect Parents

I have a friend who loved on our dog. She worked at a dog boarding facility by our home. We took our dear Bella there for the first time when we left for vacation. We were nervous dog parents. Our friend is a daughter of friends of ours. This made leaving Bella a tad bit easier. The best part of leaving our Bella at the boarding facility was the extra care she received. Our friend actually took Bella home with her. This made Bella feel more comfortable.

I read a post on Facebook. A friend posted it tonight, showing her two beautiful children. She said, “I may not be a perfect mom, but I am a present and loving mom.” I loved this statement so much. I thought to myself, no parent is perfect.

Being a parent is hard and absolutely has its ups and downs. I laugh when I write about this. This mom, who states she is not perfect, gave our Bella the most amazing love and attention while at the facility where animals stayed at. I knew she would be a great mom when she had children. Yep, I believe that if someone loves animals they will be a great parent.

I can tell you from experience, I did not have a good childhood at all. I made it and made something out of it….I am a very strong individual. I am also smart. I grew up fast and knew I would not be like either of them. They were not role models and not being around them was the best part of my life.

I looked up online, “What does it mean to be a perfect parent.” I love the response. Online stated that being a perfect parent is a myth. I absolutely agree as no one can be totally perfect in anything. “Al Overview,” also says that the goal to being perfect in unattainable.

Just because a parent makes a mistake with their child, still qualifies them as a good parent. Everyone makes a mistake and we learn from them. If you give your child love, support, and guidance, you are doing what a parent should be doing. Create a safe environment and help them to learn and grow with high self esteem.
