Delusional thoughts are something I experience every…single…day. I would have to say (my thoughts only) most people have delusional thoughts daily. We all get into our heads at times and start talking ourselves out of doing something. We start to think of all the reasons we shouldn’t try, which are called delusional thoughts. We start to believe we can’t do something we truly want to do…mostly because we don’t believe in ourselves.
Most delusional thoughts start with the words, “I can’t because…..” We can think of a zillion delusional thoughts as why we do not push ourselves to do something we know deep down we can do. I have pushed past so many delusional thoughts in my life. Never in my life would I have thought I could skydive because I am so scared of height. Yes, I cried the entire way down and I did happen to say the “F” word the moment we rolled out of the plane free falling…lol.
My delusional thoughts were….”I will undoubtedly have a heart attack on my way down, I’m too scared the plane won’t make it, the parachute won’t open, I’ll throw up, I’ll pass out, and last but not least….I might pee myself.” Guess what…none of those things happened. I did cry most of the way down and I did swear and I did have my eyes closed most of the time, but I did it and overcame my delusional thoughts.
We all have the strength to overpower our delusional thoughts. Most of the time our delusional thoughts come into our mind because we just don’t believe in ourselves. We are all stronger and more courageous than we truly think we are. I still need to make a list of the reasons why I need to push past my delusional thoughts. Sometimes I want to give up on things I really shouldn’t give up on. What I do is write all the positives that could be the outcome instead of the delusional thoughts of failing.
Delusional thoughts are just that…DELUSIONAL THOUGHTS. They are thoughts that we muster up to talk ourselves out of trying something for fear of feeling like a failure. Well guess what my fellow readers….trying something and not succeeding the first time only gives us more ideas on how to overcome and achieve what we all desire to set out and do. This is the second time I have tried to blog. I tried a long time ago and didn’t have many readers, so I quit. I then realized years later, “ok…maybe I won’t be an overnight success blogger, but am I blogging to be successful or am I blogging to help others. I realized my delusional thoughts were holding me back from helping others, which is the reason I started blogging in the first place.
Be stronger than your delusional thoughts, most are purely misconceptions.

Thank you so much for the affirmation Alexis. There are many things I do on a daily basis that I just work through and succeed even though I didn’t think I could. Your blog just affirmed my successes (and failures, which I now know not to take seriously) in a positive way I can understand. Maybe that’s why I Support The Girls-Whidbey Island has become such a success. I grew up in an era of “pull yourself up by your bootstraps and keep on going!” attitude. Same thing, just phrased differently. So off I go with my big girl panties on and face another day. I hope you have a good one too.
