Spice Up Your Life

I found myself sitting on the couch watching old reruns of “The Biggest Loser” and my hubby was scrolling through articles on his cell phone. Usually this wouldn’t bother me too much if it was just a day or two, but I thought about it for a bit and realized we had started doing this most nights. I do not think it matters how long a couple have been together…..getting into a “roommate” situation is never healthy for any relationship. Remember, It takes two to build a relationship and keep it healthy and worthwhile.

Most become that couple where we get bored with ourselves or with our situations we are suppose to be embracing. With Valentine’s Day approaching I was thinking about romance and what the true meaning was for the word romance. According to Oxford Languages, Romance means, “a feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love”. I have many married friends who show their love towards one another on a daily bases. Some have even been married for over 30-40 years and they still have that amazing spark between them.

Now believe me when I say, I am no “romantic expert” (insert smile…lol), but I believe in romance and I love to do romantic things as I love to receive romance. Don’t let the spark in you relationship fizzle out and become more like friends than romantic partners. Find those butterflies you had when you would see your partner at the beginning of the relationship. I’m not talking about big extravagant gifts, I’m talking about love notes, foot or hand massages, going for walks and holding hands, looking into one another’s eyes when you say how you feel about them, or cooking and cleaning together. The list goes on and on.

Romance= Excitement=Butterflies

Romance=Mystery=Unexpected Heartwarming Surprises

Have a wonderful day, and enjoy life to its fullest!!!!
