I just turned in the final editing for my first Self-Help Workbook, and I am truly excited and exhausted from working on it. I applaud all writers as publishing a book takes a lot of work, time, brain fog, determination, questioning one’s self, and the list goes on and on.
Many of us lose ourselves when we are determined to get something done we have a passion for, not to mention being on our bucket list. It was fun rereading my book while editing. Man, talk about finding myself again. I felt such a high after reading the manuscript and knew I was finally reaching for the stars with this passion of writing a book that will help others.
I was hoping to have my book out by July of this year but, getting the final product takes longer than I ever thought it would. I have to remind myself the saying, “Good things happen to those who wait.” I understand rewards are greater when one waits patiently instead of rushing something to happen quickly and the results are not what you wanted…..why???? Because we rushed.
I need to remember that life can get in the way of our passions and patience is the utmost importance to get through any divert in life. I have had two surgeries in the past six months and had to learn patience while waiting to see if my voice would come back after vocal cord surgery. This month I had to learn patience in recovery from losing most of my breasts and their deformity from surgery.
I’m so damn proud of my patience and strength. I believe everything thing happens for a reason and at a specific time in life. I needed to reread my book for editing purposes, which taught me the strength I have within myself and a ton of patience I have within, (although I wanted to go back to work sooner than I was allowed…lol.)
My point in today’s blog is that not everything happens right when we think it will as life does throw us curve balls continuously. Patience makes us strong and patience can make us proud of ourselves. I know my book will eventually be published, but I’m sure glad that I had to read my lessons in life to help me get through some tough times and teaching me to have stronger patience and gratitude.
