Full of Life

Life is funny and full of surprises, which absolutely keeps us on our toes. That is….unless you have lost that enthusiasm for life and pretty much are a couch potato. You get up, have coffee, go to work or just sit on the couch and watch TV. You eat when you feel like it and have no connection with the outside world and you either feel fine with this feeling, or you are stuck being in the house or work without emotions and the will to enjoy life.

I have had those feelings and experiences in the past. I even got up to 205 unhealthy pounds, luckily with schooling and getting excited about my future helped me snap out of it. I started doing the things I always wanted to do, went to school, and my daughter got me a fitbit which is probably the best gift I have ever gotten. I started to thrive to exercise, walk and eat healthier.

Oh yes….I have my waves in life…we all have our highs and lows. We get hurt unexpectedly, blindsided and sometimes life throws us some major curve balls. Our first reaction is to become angry and we become like a turtle and pull our head under the covers wishing what happened to us would disappear. Learning to accept what happened is essential. We definitely can’t change the situation, but we can learn to move on and not let sadness ruin our life.

Learning to accept, adjust and move on is so important to live a full exciting life. It’s not easy, but it can be done.

Keep a journal….yes!!! This will help you. Write down in the morning how your yesterday went. Focus on your feelings, figure out what happened to affect your feelings…your ups and downs. If you didn’t have any down moments…WAHOO for YOU. Figure out what happened to affect your mood and work on adjusting your mood to uplift yourself. Start meditating….this will improve your mood, lessen your level of anxiety and sadness, improve your attention levens, improve concentration and improve your overall well-being.

Enjoy the life you were given. Learn to have a full and happy life. You truly can.
