Our mind is mysterious. The mind controls our desires, feelings, and thinking. Our mind works consciously and unconsciously. We program our brain for learning how we feel, think and desire. We allow our brain to learn what we allow it to learn. We can program our mind to give us self-doubt.
Negativity takes over our mind more than positivity. I have done a lot of research on the mind during my college days. Back when I led therapy groups at mental health hospitals, I tried to help clients learn we can think up to 60,000 thoughts a day. Sadly, most of these thoughts are negative thoughts. We have programmed our own negative thought process and self-doubt. Some of you may say….”I was taught to think this way,” but if you recognize this thought, you can change the thought to benefit you. I hope that makes sense.
Some of the first words we learn are, “I love you and No.” According to Psychology Today (Negative Thinking: A Dangerous Addiction, April 15, 2019) 80% of our thoughts are negative. We have trained our mind to think the worst instead of finding the positive, which is why I love writing my blog, to help people live a more positive life. I was the queen of negative feelings and thoughts. I’m still a work in progress, as we all are and will forever be.
We have desires of wanting or wanting something to happen. I tend to feel as though desire goes right along with wishing. We can wish all day long about the life we desire, but are we doing anything to get closer to living that life we desire? Are you letting your mind tell you (tricking you) into believing you “can’t” do something when you really can if the desire is strong enough. Don’t look at the big picture all the time, break down your desires into baby steps and get er’ done.
Our mind controls our feelings and we can control how we react to those feelings. Mastering this process is non-existent, but you can control your reactions most of the time. Hey….We are human and sometimes life throws us a huge curveball which you will react spontaneously…this is normal. What we do need to remember is…We can correct our feelings once the initial shock is over.
Thinking is huge. WE TEND TO OVERTHINK MOST THINGS, which become negative thoughts….You know…Those famous Mind Games our mind does. First instincts are thoughts to pay attention to. Don’t over analyze everything, this will put your mind into a frinze. If your mind feels overloaded with negative thoughts….Write down what is bothering you and tackle one thought at a time. This process will help tremendously. YOU’VE GOT THIS!!!!
