Life Challenges

I want to write today a little bit about life’s challenges.  I am writing a book named, “I Use To Be,” This book is about my life and all the challenges I faced and happily overcame and lived to write about it.  Of course, if you have been reading my blog you know about many of my thoughts and ideas when it comes to life challenges and overcoming them.

We are a work in progress and will be till the day we say goodbye to the world we live on one last time. Life gives us challenges every single day. Even when you believe you have had the most amazing day, you overcame numerous challenges….so when you go to bed each night…give yourself credit for finishing another day. I do this every night. I lay in bed and give gratitude for all the things I accomplished. I got out of bed, I ate, I put some steps in, got dressed, was able to talk to friends, cleaned house, and some days I am so grateful for driving to Seattle and back without getting into a wreck. That my friends is a huge accomplishment for me. Lol As I get older, a huge life challenge is driving with all the people around me not paying attention to what they are doing, not to mention…I can be a tad bit intimidated driving in heavy traffic.

I have had days where I have felt like nothing went the way I had planned for it to, but you know what, I went to bed grateful that I did make it through the day. I knew when I woke up in the morning, it would be a new day and I would examine the prior day’s events, what didn’t go the way I wanted , why it didn’t, and what I can do to help improve myself and move on. I have learned to stop dwelling on what didn’t go right for the day, but lift my head high and learn what I can do to change to make my days better. I never say, “I should have, I could have, If only I had,” I say, “this is what I will do from now on.”

There have been jobs I never got hired for that I wanted so badly. I have worked on my blog and would give up numerous times feeling like a failure.  I have learned that I am the one giving up on myself. No one else doesn’t believe in me, I was the one that didn’t believe in me. I learned to interview better, have more self confidence, and learned  I can always do better. We will never be perfect….if we were perfect we wouldn’t learn from our life adventures anymore, and how sad would that be for our mind. We’d stop exercising our mind because we believe we know it all…HA!! Surprise…. No one knows everything and we learn something new every single day.

Life challenges make us who we are….we can either be weak, intimidated, scared, strong, brave, encouraged, or excited…just to name a few adjectives. I want to be encouraged with my life’s challenges. I have overcome so many life challenges, and each day I look forward to overcoming the day’s challenge with getting to the finish line with a smile. Like the saying says, “It’s not how fast you finish the race, it’s that you started and finished.” Be proud of finishing with understanding the end goal.

We challenge ourselves every day. Write out how your day went for the prior day.  For example,  on Friday morning, write out how your day went on Thursday. What were your challenges and how did you overcome them, or how are you going to tackle them? Take baby steps to get to the end result you desire. If you take too big of steps, then fail, you may give up and you have accomplished nothing but another broken heart. We are all strong within, you may tell yourself you can’t do it, but you really can handle life challenges. Most of our life challenges are challenges we bring to ourselves. You can achieve life challenges….Believe in yourself….Follow through….AND DON’T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF….YOU ARE WORTH IT.
