What does progress mean to you? How do you visualize or foresee progress? Maybe some see progress as finishing something. I view progress as the stepping stones in life. Progress is taking it nice and slow towards something we want to achieve. Sometimes our life doesn’t progress the way we would like it to, which is when we need to sit back and reanalyze what it is that is keeping us from progressing forward.
In life we have many roads to progress to, you know, drive a different route if we want to see different scenery, or we make a U-Turn when we recognize we are taking the wrong road, or we ask others which directions they would possibly take. This is giving us options when we ask for directions. Our life is a map and our progress depends on which roads we chose to take, if we want to backtrack, adventure in a new direction, or seek counseling/life coaching to help us visualize which direction we are truly wanting to take.
Roadblocks are when we become stuck and stop progressing. Some of us give up because the direction we would like to take may have some detours or rough roads we would rather not try and take, but the truth is friends, sometimes those detours or rough roads lead to amazing adventures we can thrive in. Not all roads lead to where we are destined to end.
There are millions of roads we can progress on. There is no timeline that states how fast we need to get somewhere. The importance in our destinations is the progress we make to get to our destinations. I say destinations, with a “s” because life has many destinations we progress to, our map (life) is full of different “life” directions.
Choosing a path/road/direction in life will always be a continuous progression. Our progress ends at the end of life. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we progressed with life adventures, ventured on numerous roads, made detours along the way, found new routes we enjoyed, made U-Turns because the road wasn’t leading us to the destination we planned for, or progressed through rough roads. We learn from progression.
Life is full of progress through many roads, take breaks, fuel up before you continue when you believe you are too tired, take advice from others on different routes/directions, and most of all, enjoy the ride even if there are bumps, detours or U-Turns with the roads we take in our life journey.
