Rearranging

I moved into a house last week and in eight days I rearranged my living room three times. I’m happy with it now. Life is like rearranging furniture. We have to rearrange things in our life numerous times until we feel like the arrangement is comfortable for us. Sometimes that comfort doesn’t last very long, so….we need to rearrange again to help us feel in the comfort zone once again.

I was talking with my adoptive mom, (I actually adopted her when I was in my early forties and a bartender, I waited on this amazing couple and I adopted them as my mom and dad lol), anyway….I was telling mom that I had rearranged my furniture three times already. She told me she use to rearrange her furniture a lot also. She said to me then, “I guess I’m happy with the way it is now because I’ve left it this way it is for a long time.” I loved this because I thought how interesting it is that we change/rearrange our life numerous times until we are happy and/or content, just like rearranging our furniture.

When I think about my day and write about the life lessons I have learned, I can’t help but smile. I love everyone in my life who help me learn life lessons and understand them. I love strangers I meet who teach me many life lessons. It’s the little things in life that we learn that can make big changes in our attitude. Talking with mom about rearranging my furniture made me smile and understand that it was worth the back pain in moving the furniture until I was happy with the outcome. Had I settled with the way the furniture was prior to how I now have it, I would have not felt happy and content.

If you are not happy with something in your life, rearrange your life to make you feel happy and content. Don’t settle if you are not happy (I preach this a lot), but rearrange until you are good and then if you start to feel as though you need to rearrange again……do it, rearrange until you smile with joy.
