Most of us are always searching for something better. A better haircut, better outfit, better cookware, better job, better car…you get the point. I am always searching to better my life but, forgetting to be happy for what I have. Yes, bettering yourself is a must….but not with material things. We should be happy for what we have, make the best out of what we have, and work on our inner-self. Once we master the joy of loving ourself, we will most likely be happy for all that we have.
When I start thinking I’m not happy because of material things or things I take for granite, I think about those less fortunate. When I have a bad hair day, I think about those who have lost their hair, not by their choice. When I feel like I have nothing to wear, I think about those who are not fortunate to have as many choices of clothing to wear. When I become stressed about my job, I come home and remember how grateful I am to have a job.
I’m not telling you to settle for what you have, but be grateful for what you have. I’m not telling you to not seek for better opportunities, but to be grateful for all the opportunities you have already been given. Each night I am so beyond thankful for everything I have and worked hard for, but most of all, I am grateful for how much I work on my inner-self.
The lesson I have learned is….I need to be happy within rather than having material things to make me feel better. We all have a different level of desires and, desires are amazing. Work on your desires and help those who have desires but have trouble finding their way to reach their desires and/or their goals. I can tell you one thing that I know to be true every single time I say it……You will never be totally happy with your life…..but you will always be happy when you help someone else.
I laugh at this post tonight because my mind is actually all over the place when I talk about the joys of fulfilling your hearts happiness, and helping others do the same. I love life and giving to others, but most of all, I love seeing others smile over little things that we can take for granite.
Thank you all for reading my blog and making me smile by reading it. This blog fills my heart and I hope helps other’s hearts grow with joy too.
