Life is not only full of lessons, but with each lesson we are given one or more challenges. We face challenges on a daily basis. Most of us are challenged by what to wear for the day, noticing the new wrinkle on our face, and trying to figure out what we can do to help diminish it. We are challenged by what to make for meals for our family or ourselves, when to do the laundry done….you get the picture right?
One of my biggest challenges in life is how much I worry about what people think of me, am I doing the right thing in other’s eyes, or am I doing what I love and not what people think I should be doing. We have expectations that we didn’t even know were expected from others. I have a degree in psychology and I can guarantee I have let many people down by my career path.
Life challenges should not involve if we are doing what is right in the eye’s of others, but we should be doing what feels right to us. This my friends…..IS ONE HECK OF A HUGE CHALLENGE. I am going to be sixty-one in May and I still have the challenge of what I want to do when I grow up. I love to blog, I love to help others, I love people. I remember when I first started college I took some questionnaire on their computers and the result was…. I should be a airline stewardess.
While in college, I took so many assessments/personality tests. The challenge I had was most of them said, I should be a counselor. You may be asking why this is such a challenge for someone with a degree in counseling. Counseling is a tough career if you are truly into helping others. My life challenge with my career was I would worry about the client/patient 24/7. Not a healthy situation.
Life challenges involves one’s career. We spend most of our life at work. I know I do because I have one job that I work about 50 hours at a week and my second job I work 15-21 hours a week. Neither one is counseling, and this… is my challenge. Although I am helping people, neither job is my heartfelt career.
Our life challenge is to feel full of life, most of the time. We can never be 100% fulfilled, because life has challenges, which involve emotional rollercoasters. We have challenges with eating healthy and being active, we have challenges with our day to day responsibilities. Life is just full of challenges.
My Lesson regarding life challenges is for all of us to remember….we can seek a life that makes us happy or we can stay in situations that make us dread certain life events, some events may pertain to your career, relationships, or living situations. Think of situations in your life….do you smile when you think of them or do you become sad. The challenge is to become more happy with life challenges then dread them.
