How many of us can have the patience to do something for the first time and expect perfection? Not many of us can do this without becoming frustrated if our expectations are not met. Patience is a virtue means to be able to do something without becoming frustrated or upset with ourselves over the results.
I am writing this today because I tried to make really cute deviled eggs for a Halloween Party tonight and I became exhausted trying to make them look just like the picture in Pinterest. I even posted them on Facebook stating that they didn’t turn our the way I expected. Why do we expect so much out of ourselves with a first time experience at trying to do something? I love life lessons because today I learned that I need to have patience with myself.
We all need to have patience with ourselves. When we do something for the first time, we need to realize that we build from that first time experience. I learned today that I need to not put so much mayonnaise in my deviled egg mixture so they are not so runny. I need to make sure I start sooner before the party and let my eggs set up. I love that I learned these lessons so I can grow from my first experience.
Life is full of learning to have patience with all our experiences. When we do something and we’re not happy about it, learn from it and grow patience with yourself. Just like diets, when we cheat on our diet, take the time to realize why we cheated. When we argue with someone, look at what triggered the argument and learn from it and have patience with that person or yourself. We are all uniquely different and don’t think the same. I learned this lesson today too. I need to have patience with friends, family, and people in general.
“Patience is a virtue,” and this statement is beyond valuable to learn. Don’t get upset with yourself or others, learn from the experience and grow from it. Life is too precious to not have patience. I truly love this lesson and I love that I learn “life lessons” each day.
