Picture Perfect

I had an amazing road trip vacation this past week. We put over 2,500 miles on our truck. I hadn’t seen my daughter in fourteen months and the saving grace to keep me going was looking a pictures of us together, receiving texts from her and Marco Polo’s. Why am I bringing this up? Because, pictures are memories. Memories bring smiles and happy thoughts.

Today I saw my husband sitting in his parent’s living room quiet as he looked at a picture of his family on the wall. It is a beautiful picture of his parents, brothers and sister. My husband’s father passed away this June, but the pictures brings back wonderful memories of happy times while his father was alive.

Pictures tell a story, most of the time these are happy stories. We take pictures because we want to capture a memory that makes us smile. I have always loved taking pictures of everything I do, especially when family and friends are involved. I’ve never been much of a scenic picture taker, but to some, these beautiful pictures bring back memories of landscaping, flowers grown, gardens we’ve put a lot of time in, or there are our animal pictures that bring back happy memories.

Take pictures whenever you can because I can guarantee you taking pictures of magical moments, or anything else that makes you smile, will certainly make you smile down the road. Heck, take a picture a day of something that makes you smile and date stamp it. This is why I love Facebook or Instagram because they give us “memories” of past posts. I love these memories. Memories that bother me, I delete them. Simple and easy to do. Why would you keep memories that upset you?

Take pictures fellow readers. Capture memories that make you smile and bring a positive mood. When you feel sad or miss someone or something you loved, look at pictures that bring back wonderful and loving memories. On my seven day vacation I probably took over 200 pictures. You have nothing to loose by taking pictures, only memories to gain.

Trust The Journey,

Alexis
